About the Band
With their heads in the Caribbean Islands and their feet firmly rooted in the Appalachian Mountains, Guano Boys offer a distinct brand of island music styles. Original sounds in the style of reggae, soca, ska, and calypso with an occasional roots cover create an enticing musical recipe. The diverse instrumentation, ranging from clawhammer banjo, accordion and steel guitar, to trombone, baritone sax and electric guitar with acoustic bass, and organ, gives the band many options in delivering their music while exploring the music’s potential.
Despite the diversity in approach and instrumentation, the resulting chemistry is a sound that is instantly identifiable yet always interesting and unpredictable. The initial Guano Boys recording has been enthusiastically received by Fans and DJs across the United States.
Guano Boys are based in Charlottesville, Virginia, and if you’re within a 200 mile radius, we are readily available to perform for your parties, dances, weddings, or what-have-you…
“Rise up out of the primordial goo, boys”
Cajoled Dave Grant,
And he saw that it was Guano.
And he saw that Guano was good shit.
So for the past decade, Guano Boys have steamed ahead leaving
thousands of tired, happy dancers better off than they found them.
